Mariano's Frozen Margaritas Mix

KARNAK - hidden entities

Provenivano , ancora una volta ('aspetto' I'm very proud of) from the capital of the Renaissance and the Fine Arts, 'Guelph' Florence, Karnak, which were part of that underground musical movement that raised the city of the lily in the news nationally and internationally in the years '80s.
Along with a large group of artistic projects, which in summary assembled clubs, discos, fashion, visual art, music, and who has so forth, this group of boys participated in the activity with all the passion of music and the arts as possible without have adequate financial means and probably paying for everything from his own pocket, as is often needed to be done in that period. With the most popular
Litfiba, Diaphragm, Neon (to mention only the most 'popular' reality Florentine period) and other local bands, the Karnak had a busy concert schedule, often of support, which then became a reality with the production of a single vinyl, a seven-inch for Electric Eye Records, thanks to the mixing of Marcello Michelotti (frontman of the Neon), was printed in 1984 under the title "When the doors are closed" and contained only three pieces (the title track, "Saqqara lights" and "Northern tempest" ), the sound typically Dark / Post Punk, tribal influences from 'Albion' (the first Banshees, with some sections 'neworderiani', those of "Movement" for instance) and 'elective affinities' related to Egypt of the Pharaohs (the name of the band continues the temple of Luxor, including the cover of the disc confirms this).
On the Electric Eye Records, one must remember that it was an important independent record label et fundamental Italian, founded in 1982 think about Claudio Sorge, whose ranks they landed in the most diverse projects, from garage to Wave Rock, Industrial Electronic sound from the psychedelia, with many bands counted in it (to name a few Not Moving, Victrola, Effervescent Elephants, Sick Rose, the Boohoos, Polyactive etc ...) in the period from about 1982 to the early '90s, whose album "Gathered" (1982) was the very first compilation Wave Rock National Independent of the decade.
The Fiorentino Group was composed as follows: Francesco Cosi (vocals and sax), Francesco Caldini (guitars), Pierluigi Soldiers (bass) and Andrew Bellucci (drums), with the help of Sonia Butini (on violin).
'Anonymous' perhaps today, in a period in which it occurs, and luckily, a sort of 'resurrection' historical music of those years at the time were frantically Karnak the present, however, Florence was a 'milestone' of nightlife 'on stage' of the local Underground, with frequent passages through the main radio Radio 'Free' local, I mean ControRadio, still in operation, another 'historical memory' of quel lontano periodo .
The second track of Karnak is the beautiful "nervous breakdown", a project that explores the '80s rock scene Wave Italian license plate, a CD and a DVD with music and interviews that summarize that fabulous decade (personal opinion, because 'lived' in side ...). In the chapter about the scene Fiorentina, Francesco So you review Karnak with its live and a brief interview. Other purchase
'forced'.
A time long gone, in which the passion for music, the smell the 'new' (fashion, literature, media, etc ...), the 'ri'cambio generation, tired of an extremely politicized as the previous decade gave rise to many forms of art and of life for many young (probably still 'tied' to that experience, like myself, but I guess now you know ...), which shows how the imagination, creativity and very few financial resources available (telephony, digital, network had only imagined the future as the science fiction of 'Urania' and Asimov then ...) so they could 'fruit', not even in economic terms, but simply as part of socialization, fun and togetherness of the town as possible.
Along with many youth teams (Jeunesse d'Ivoire, Dark Tales, Art Boulevard, State Of Art and many others, wrongly considered 'minor'), the group of Karnak then participated closely with the concert, in a more than decent to that artistic movement, while leaving little material vinilitico inheritance.
Given the 'revaluation' of certain sounds 'niche', at the international level, as I wrote at the beginning of this post, I found it fair to say that training has my opinion, really should be 'resurrected' from oblivion, unknown to most of today's young audiophile 'highly trained' as regards the web and I hope very curious to try a music time 'innovative', now difficult to recover if not completely lost.

Heroes in the Wind.
