Ammonia-free Highlights

DECA's 60 - Dark

Now just post a 'prone' to the current positive atmosphere and Christmas.

A name misunderstood by homegrown 'masses ', including more' close 'and' intransigent 'of the Italian.

Staying in Liguria, we have now moved to Savona, the birthplace of Federico De Caroli, aka DECA, shy electronic composer since the late '80s is working in the 'trial' in music, ever-changing, started from the lessons of the German school to get to cosmic a personal 'Ambient Music', which draws on various kinds without being bound to no one in particular.
Despite the impressive record production and being one of the pillars of the Italian electronic scene (for instance, the sound from the Industrial and Esoteric in the first place), has never enjoyed a great reputation, probably because of choices without compromises, which have made the distribution of his albums especially aimed at fans and collectors, a material hard enough to find.
diploma in piano and graduated in modern literature, Federico De Caroli published his first work in the late '80s, approaching the electronic sound on a polyphonic analog synthesizer with the marked influence the sound of Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, La Düsseldorf, Neu and others 'Cosmic Courier' more 'synthetic' (but also Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis in some respects).
Her first album ("Alkaid" of 1986), published by a small label, still bitter and rough in the arrangements, it is a pleasant mix between futuristic Techno Pop and symphonic music. Deca
same time worked as arranger and sound engineer at some studios, expanding his experience by taking advantage of technology tools and more professional.
In 1987 he released the album "Synthetic Lips", inspired by the school typically cosmic and music files, with Jarre and Tangerine Dream by reference, starting in the song titles ("Hydrogen", "Tangram"). The
longplaying is full of melancholy and ethereal melodies, carpets of sequencers and drum machines, all in all a good album. Musician
now 'niche', the cult underground Deca continues in 1989 with a first 'turn', the album marked "Claustrophobia" dark Dark manifest in all respects.
A music full of anguish, sound effects to a minimum and haunting atmospheres and nihilistic made of synthetic harpsichord ("Carnal Flowers", "Liquid Animals") or a church organ ("Cathedral Of Nightmares"), surrounded by heavy rhythms and metallic clang (only three tracks sung, so to speak, her voice as an instrument alien in "Inframorte", "Metamorphosis," "Private Panic").
A beautiful and dark album, swinging between Dark Wave and Industrial sound, this third disc opens a path to personal and more radical, decisive in the coming years. Deca
opened the '90s with "Premonition Humana" album that returns to the atmosphere more symphonic sound overlapping synthetic string section and piano.
1992 is also the year that Deca back to gigging after a long pause, with an audio-visual form and thanks to a computerized lighting system and the projection of original movies and computergraphics. In the following years
, Decided to stop production record, however, devoted to work more or less experimental, which are then used for sound documentaries, theater, dance, multimedia installations.
The album "Phantom", 1998, released by the 'historic' Old Europa Cafe in Pordenone, is a remarkable example of the Industrial Drones 'Cold Meat Industry', with intriguing rhythmic sequences, with voices and flashes of the abyss bizarre percussion instruments.
With "Phantom" comes into question the 'Neg (ative) Age', cultural trend opposite to that of the new age of fashion then, no hope, then, but the only outlet and simple vision of reality without alienating and miserable perspectives.
the next CD, titled "electronica", released in 2000, is the only official collection of recordings of Deca, consisting of unreleased tracks, recorded over a decade, decided by the rhythmic stamp and cutting 'cyberpunk' from ' Electronic Body Music ', which may refer to formations such as DAF and Front Line Assembly.
the summer of 2002 sees the light "Symbiont", perhaps his 'masterpiece'.
An album containing only half an hour of music and because very few copies in print in 'Carbon' because officially distributed worldwide through a dedicated website.
probably among his most interesting and representative, from the sound dark and abysmal with eight tracks in it, the apocalyptic titles ("Obscure Epidemy", "Enthropia", "Cryptomorphic"), a series of elaborate sound and atmospheres that recall, affinity-Ellett, the mythical Coil, Psychic TV more rituals and early Current 93 and apocalyptic Sleep Chamber, with the rhythms, mantras luciferin, voices from beyond the cosmic, all wrapped in a blanket and left demonic.
"Symbiont" is a kind of perfect soundtrack Dark Ambient, esoteric, dreamlike and haunting, sounding filtered, manipulated ambient sounds, piano and percussion, distorted space-time worthy of a story by Lovecraft.
The album "Aracnis Radiarum", will be the next job, which was released after five years, beginning in 2007, with twelve tracks key even in the darkest and cosmic, but more 'musical' in the strict sense, between the symphony and rhythmic patterns.
In 2010 publishes his latest work, entitled "Automa Ashes", which evolved in part to the sound of "Symbiont" leading to the extreme almost unrecognizable sound sources, mixing electronic and piano, a fine disc for fans of the genre, with "Arcanaut Paradox", "Osmodes Enigma", "Unknown Machina" and "Sehsashes" among the most successful tracks.
Although still considered an 'outsider', even in the undergrowth of the current Industrial Electronic Ambient, DECA has never ceased to experiment and put into question, after twenty years of artistic career, one of the most advanced sound designers and composers on the international scene.
Credit where credit is a requirement in the presence of Pinzillacchere Music. Cosmic

Alchemist.
