Welcome Bag Letter Example

Lucio Battisti - Young Emotions

One of the biggest personalities in the history of Italian music, both as an interpreter of his music, both as a writer for other artists, a career that has resulted in over twenty-five million sales discs.

Lucio Battisti was born in March '43, in the province of Rieti (Poggio Bustone), a child is brought in Rome in 1950, where the family has decided to move.
After receiving his diploma in electrical engineering in '62, infatuated by the music and the instrument of the guitar, entering the business as a musician with various groups and then moved to Milan, joining the League, support Tony Dallara complex. The young Lucio
proves to be a real miracle, manages to get noticed in 1965 by Christine Leroux, talent-scout for the label Ricordi, which gives him the 'fatal' meeting with lyricist Giulio Rapetti, in art Mogol. The debut solo
then began with the 45 of 1966 which included "Per una lira" and "One Sweet Day", with modest results, especially since che oggi il disco gode di grande considerazione nel circuito collezionistico .

As for the solo career, Battisti released his second single, "Luisa Rossi / Era", but did not achieve success. Battisti
In 1968 he recorded "Prisoner of the world", but is the most successful track on the back, "Balla Linda", a melodic song, but already 'experimental' fees for the music of that period, in which Baptist Convention rejects the rhymes kissed for the lyrics, in agreement with the albums. With
"Balla Linda" is in the Cantagiro, which ranks fourth, entering for the first time with a song he played, in the standings. In January 1969
Lucio part for the first and only time as a singer in the Sanremo Festival 1969 with the song "adventure", which succeeds in combining the traditional Italian melody with the atmosphere and the sounds of Rhythm 'n' Blues, in particular with a characteristic and strong horn section, it is no coincidence that the foreign interpreter he is joined Wilson Pickett.
The track in ninth place in the final standings, but this participation in Sanremo greatly increased his popularity and always in correspondence with the Festival, released "An adventure / It is Frank."
In 1969 he released his first album, entitled "Lucio Battisti", a collection of songs previously released singles in the previous six songs already released versions of other groups and singers here interpreted by Baptists, which is followed by the second single of the year, "blue water, clear water / Ten girls."
participated for the first time in a program, 'Special For You' by Renzo Arbore, then broadcast on RAI's second channel.
In the transmission is launched the song "blue water clear water", which will become a summer hit in the summer of 1969, won the Festivalbar of that year.
During the summer running his first tour, consists of 21 evenings and during the summer along with Mogol Battisti founded an independent record label, the Numero Uno.
In this project they are involved in Formula 3, Toby Lightman, Edward Jackson and other artists Although Baptists can not even go to the label because of contractual obligations that bind him to remember.
October 1969 published the third single of the year, "I think of returns / 7 and 40" and between the individual and public that year, this is the one that meets the greatest success: it is the 11th biggest selling single 1969 and also comes in first place in the Hit Parade.
Despite his success as a performer, his work as a writer for other singers continues with success: his songs are very successful as "this crazy feeling," entrusted to Formula Three, "Mamma Mia", entrusted to the Chameleons, "The Paradise of Life (a song written in 1968 by Battisti and Mogol for Girl 77 (but that does not get any success), taken by the British group of Amen Corner, with the title "(If Paradise Is) Half as Nice", reaching number one on the UK charts.
Patty Pravo, on a trip in the United Kingdom, is fascinated by the song of Amen Corner, unaware that it was originally written by Battisti and Mogol, and decided to make a cover with the title "Paradise", making the beautiful folk song even in Italy.
The '70s, especially in the first half, are the years when Lucio Battisti arrives at the height of popularity and success.
His albums are always among the first places in the charts in 1973 and , caso raro nella storia discografica nazionale , riesce a conquistare il primo ed il secondo posto in classifica (con "Il mio canto libero" ed "Il nostro caro angelo") , distanziando opere di respiro e successo internazionali come "The Dark Side of the Moon" dei Pink Floyd .
Dal 21 giugno al 26 luglio of that year, at the initiative of the Mogul, the two embark on a journey on horseback from Milan to Rome, the journey will be told by Baptists in three articles on TV smiles.
Just got back from the trip began preparations for the summer tour that will take the Formula 3: ten dates made between 'the other world' of Rimini, 'compass' of Viareggio and the local Gino Paoli in Sestri Levante.
will remain on his last tour. In October, the public
single "Anna / Emotions", which will be followed in November '70 the concept album "Love and not love," an album rather experimental and hard to understand (half of the songs are instrumental and conducive to the Progressive Rock) , So that you remember to put it aside, instead releasing another collection, "Emotions", which is found in the stereo version already published excerpts from the individual, this time without even a novel.
With this commercial operation by Ricordi reports of Baptists with the record company come to an end.
In 1971 Battisti released "Thoughts and words / With you I'm fine."
This year, the press began to lament the decreasing availability of Baptists to be interviewed and photographed, so April 27, 1971 he performed at the Press Club of Milan, especially for journalists and their families, accompanied on guitar by Mario Lavezzi and Mogul, in order to make it clear that it is not personal hatred, but only of his desire to be judged solely on his music.
In July '71, finally, the public remember the album "Love and not love," along with the single "My God no / was" immediately censured for alleged erotic allusions.
July 31 is recorded, in the studios of RAI, 'Together', a program designed by Music Mogul, where artists performed live many members (or related) to Number One: Lucio Battisti, Dik Dik, the Flora Cement and fauna, the PFM, Mia Martini, Mauro Pagani, Adriano Pappalardo, Formula 3, Toby Lightman and Edward Linkage, which will then be forwarded in September '71, with an excellent outcome, especially among younger audiences.
contract expires in September that linked him to the discs Remember, it is then free to go to Number One.
published his first single for Number One, "The song of sunshine / also for you," another key track.
In April '72, Baptists participate in the TV 10 Theater, presented by the great Alberto Lupo, sings a preview of "The Gardens of March" playing in duet with Mina playing a medley, then rightly considered one of the most important exhibitions in the history of Italian music.
This will be the last television appearance of Baptists in Italia .
A novembre del 1972 , pubblica l'album "Il mio free song, accompanied by the single "My hand free / Confusion", best-selling album of 1973.
in 1973 released the album "Our dear angel" preceded by the single "Cherry Hill / Our dear angel." arrangements, for the first time, appearing with some important electronic instruments, and is reduced by the presence of strings and horns, inflated in the work of previous years.
At the end of 1974, after a trip to South America with the albums, Public Latin soul, "perhaps his most complex and hard disk, an attempted fusion of latin sounds with the Progressive sound, an album that includes songs long and extensive use of synthesizers, hard rhythmic and tribal at times, where the lyrics, sung by the 'low', are becoming more cryptic.
Although difficult to address the new proposal (almost any song remained in the collective memory), the disc gets exceptional sales and remained on the charts for many weeks, to record an album of Baptists.
In 1975, after a trip to the USA, Battisti absorb new musical style and recording technique, especially the sounds of disco music, so the RCA suggests to make an album with his greatest hits sung in English, but the 'artist does not agree and the next year the public longplaying "The drums, bass, etc." accompanied by single "Still you / Where did you get that bush," another hit from the many sales.
After two years, in '77, publishes another 33 laps, "I you us all", with the single "Loving each other a bit '/ Yes, travel, drive along the lines of the previous year, with a few main points of the production of Battisti second period.
The relationship with the albums is after, several ups and downs, and at loggerheads after the publication of a collection in English, "Images", published again in '77 for the RCA, without achieving the results hoped to break the foreign market.
follow two other important and successful album, "A woman friend" of 1978 and "A gloomy day" which opens the 80 , Both for Number One.
definitely ended the relationship with the albums, silently and without arguments, Baptists in 1982 released the album "Already", a disc totally 'foreign', with pieces of short duration, fully electronic without the use of strings and guitars, which see themselves as co-author of the texts that Velez, in reality his wife Grazia Letizia Veronese.
This album represents a radical change and the transition to a new phase for the artist Battisti.
In the second half of the 80s began working with Pasquale Panella, in this period, he published five albums musically diverse and advanced, which continues through the music research, dealing with different kinds e tecniche di registrazione , tutti dalla grafica minimale e completamente priva di colore .
Nell'ottobre 1988 esce l'album "L'apparenza" , dove su richiesta di Panella stesso , Starting with this album, the technique of writing songs is reversed, with panel that writes the lyrics and Baptists who later wrote the music above;
in September 1990 he published "The Bride West," published by CBS (and not the number One, as had happened to the previous albums).
The disc has no prominence among the general public, which is beginning to gain a feeling 'homesick' to the Baptists and instant classic.
October 1992 published "What will happen to the girl," with the Columbia label, which explores musical genres such as rap and techno, a further setback in sales and the plays.
Definitely better for sales, is the collection of old songs titled "Origins." After a 'failed' project to three, with Celentano and Mina (should have been called H2O), with Baptists first intrigued then disappeared irretrievably,
in January 1994, when his new album is almost ready, Baptists decided not to renew the contract with the label.
The album, entitled "Hegel" was released instead to the Number One, with a musical sound is very close to the Dance, whose texts contain numerous references to German philosopher Friedrich Hegel.
The disc unfortunately prove to be a flop when it comes to sales, album issue so that the time of publication, Panella said they would not write more lyrics for Baptists.
The downward turn of this great Italian music, will see it rejected, given the recent drop in popularity and success, major record companies and end with the worst news.
After ten days of hospitalization at a clinic in Milan, Lucio Battisti died on the morning of September 9, 1998 at the age of 55 years, the causes of death have not been officially disclosed.
Its production was a huge turning point for Italian pop music, a true innovator of traditional song and melody, 'ferried' to the modernità di generi e stili , un'Artista che ha lasciato postume tutte quelle 'giovani emozioni' , regalandoci per sempre canzoni memorabili ed ancora oggi attualissime per molti aspetti .
In questo blog , non poteva mancare .
Una menzione speciale .

L'insostenibile leggerezza dell'essere

Running, running up the stairs holding my breath and feel the hands that grab the door handle as if they were stuck in the clutches of predatory prey trying to resist, still a bit '.
entered the house and feel almost no strength in my legs and be careful not to hit the corners of the furniture against the walls to avoid falling and feel the breath more labored as if the air stifles me. And the gleam white in the eye, which gradually become fog that envelops the entire world, without turning it into a cocoon shapes and muffled sounds. But the bed is there, I feel, in trembling hands that seek the support, and I can finally let me fall.

Waking up suddenly, and not understand what has lasted and whether the neglect of fainting, and when he became sleepy. And stay there, as if suspended, wondering if there has been only a dream beyond me because of this magic light that filters through half-closed eyelids, until I open your eyes and see.

WHISKY TRAIL - Celtic Pride

This post is dedicated to a beautiful, historic Italian group, unfairly et remembered very little mentioned by the press of the Bel Paese, enhanced by the music industry at all national ( nothing major ever seems to have interested in them), radios (I am referring to those 'alternative' and / or 'free' if you prefer) and largely ignored biased (too 'archaic' and too little respect for commercial all'inflazionata Enya and the bagpipes 'dance' and collector Hevia) from the public audiophile more 'agnostic' and young.

From Florence, in business since the mid-'70s, the Whisky Trail is a glorious creation of Folk Music (with capital F) Celtic-inspired and traditional Irish, behind a rich discography and an impressive work on stage that continues to this day, without missing a beat, after all these years.
Whisky Trail The project has covered more than thirty years of his career with the same consistency and perseverance, always with the same energy and with the declared love for the culture and tradition of Ireland, never simply reproducing existing songs, but experimenting with new songs and new arrangements.
In the early 70's, an idea by Antonio Breschi, Fiorentino pianist, influenced by Jazz and Blues, the Folk Group International is formed.
The Group is made up of musicians from various musical backgrounds, including Breschi's wife, Rebecca Miller, U.S. Southern U.S. (whose beautiful voice seems to be well prepared for Elizabethan Madrigals, Gospel and Spiritual ), Peter Crivelli (Blues singer, guitarist and bass player), Stefano Hollesch (painter and musician who plays various instruments), Gilberto Kondo (African percussion) and finally Bubbico Piero (then a young man of promise 'Jazz Fiorentino environment).
As Folk Group International, the group performed in various musical events, with some success, playing various genres and styles, given the many varieties of 'musical experiences of its members.
is then decided the name change (probably because of a group of the same name then this, 'committed and militant', composed of various musicians and instrumentalists , tra cui Moni Ovadia) , con l'abbandono di un paio di componenti e l'inserimento di nuovi musicisti , nasce così Whisky Trail .
La prima formazione del gruppo comprendeva Antonio Breschi (dulcimer , piano e voce) , Stefano Corsi (arpa celtica e bardica , armonica , chitarra a dodici corde) , Rebecca Miller (alla voce) , Giulia Daneo Lorimer (violino e voce) , Daniel Craighead (tin whistle, accordion and vocals), Peter Crivelli (guitar, bass, mandolin, harmonica) and Piero Bubbico (percussion).
It was with this first training that the group recorded its first album in 1975 for '
Editoriale Sciascia, the explicit title "Irish songs", followed by the next "Irish Songs & Dances" in 1977 (with
Rebecca Miller and Peter Crivelli leaving the group to which instead were joined by Peter Sabatini, for electric and acoustic guitar, bouzouki, harmonium, small percussion and vocals).
In 1979 the group also joins
Velemir Dugina and some concerts Chris Hamblin , and it is with this new line-up which is recorded their third album "Miriam" for the label Cardinal Records .
A constant throughout their recording career, has always been the change of formation.
In the years following the founder Antonio Breschi, Piero Bubbico Velemir Dugina and decides to quit the group and will join the project Lorenzo Greppi (highland bagpipe, dulcimer, harmonium , Dulcimer, bodhran, tin and low whistles, keyboards, harp and vocals).
Over 80s will be published two albums (the beautiful "Dies Irae" in 1982 and "Pooka" of '86), two other productions instead follow in the '90s ("The Frenzy of Suibhne "in 1992 and" White Goddess ", five years later in 1997).
the wonderful anthology published in 2002, the double CD "The Great Raid," which the group arrives at the new millennium Whisky Trail, which stands out even in the presence of Vieri Bugli the viola and fiddle.
Guests to the inevitable 'Irlanda in Festa', joyous and beautiful event that much soul Florence during the month of March, to celebrate Saint Patrick in fact, in 2005 released the CD "Irish Party" in honor of ten years of the event, with more than 150,000 admissions in 10 editions, an event still present in the Tuscan capital between 17 and 18 March, truly missed, with the past presence of Irish guests 'deluxe', as Donovan and the Chieftains.
Throughout their career, the group has performed hundreds of concerts in Italy and abroad, among them Switzerland, Spain, Germany and Portugal, taking part inoltre a spettacoli televisivi in RAI e Tmc fra i quali 'Concerto per l'Europa' con Stephane Grappelli , Roberto Murolo , Severino Gazzelloni nel 1980 , 'Pickwick' condotto da Alessandro Baricco nel 1996 ed 'Help' di Red Ronnie nel 1997 .
Nel 2007 è uscito il cd "Chaosmos" , edito da Amiata records , con riferimento alla poetica di Joyce , otto minisinfonie quasi sempre a due voci , in parte con due melodie intrecciate , con cambi ritmici e armonici in ogni brano , con parti lente e veloci ; è del 2008 l'ultima opera , il bellissimo cd dal titolo "San Frediano , an irishman in Florence" , ancora edito da Amiata Records , nel quale si rinnova l'antica sintonia between Florence and Ireland (San Frediano is a beautiful and historic district of Florence, but few citizens 'Giglio' know the origin of the Irish saint), a record that sees the 'coming back' of musicians, including Piero Bubbico on percussion.
the last manifestation of 'party in Ireland', in March of this year, the group celebrated St. Patrick's Day, with the 'reunion' of Antonio Breschi, Daniel Craighead, violinist Chris Hamblin Bubbico Piero and the rest of the training, ie Giulia Lorimer, Vieri Bugli, Stefano Corsi, Massimo Giuntini and Peter Sabatini.
On the occasion of 35th anniversary of the Whisky Trail, Saschall published anthology called "Beginnings", a collection of excerpts from the first three albums, and re-presented in original version with additional contributions from Vieri Bugli the violin and to Massimo Giuntini Irish bagpipes.
Passing casually and without much difficulty the years of 'technology at all costs', computers and samples, our WHISKY TRAIL continue undeterred in their play Celtic harp, bagpipes, bouzouki , violin and harmonium, the mortars and flutes, while maintaining that sound magical 'spell' obtained from the 'mystical' voice of Julia Lorimer and mastery of Stefano Corsi, Pietro Sabatini, Vieri Bugli and Massimo Giuntini, indomitable minstrels of the new century, completing this great and historic 'potion' music.
'Diggiamolo': The best group of 'Irish Music' is Italian!
then I invite you to listen to (some people will surely be the first time, I'm sure), we suggest a glass of Bushmills Malt to enter more in the 'climate' right ... .

whiskey, soda and Irish Folk.

-me! (but that we or us)
-Oh! ... (grunting noises or unidentified)

frantic keyboard ticking in the background, without special grace handset placed on a work plan and change of a communication tool, possibly a headset. Background noise on my side of head banging on the desk of one who wonders if you can lose all this time to get information on a contract amendment.

-Ready, Ilaria else?

-Yes, I did. Look, she is making fun and I really find it not very fair.
-But what is he talking about?
-I do not know who she is, maybe the mother or sister or girlfriend and do not even know why he's doing this, but surely she is not Asa_Ashel Bannet. Is making me lose time deliberately. So I do not give any information.
-But it seems that I have voglia di stare qui a perdere tempo?
... click!
-.............

Breadmaker By Mr Coffee

Massimo Altomare - the

The Veronese Massimo Altomare, musically active since 1973, was a period of moderate fame thanks to the duo formed together with Frank Loy (son of the great filmmaker Nanni Loy), called Loy & Altomare precisely.
The duo in question had a rather successful 'niche', without ever landing on the charts will take part in events to cry, followers of the acoustic singer-songwriters from overseas, so that in the period between '73 and '74 they recorded a few tracks made sounds but treated with the dominant guitar, harmonica and other instruments confidential , So as to create a friendly and spontaneous.
As Loy & Altomare were recorded three albums ("Portobello" in 1973 for the CGD, a second disc titled "Light" in '74, CBS, and a weblog last longplaying, "Lago di Vico ( mt.507), five years later, in 1979, again for CBS), showing that Italy then as a sort of 'Simon & Garfunkel de'noantri', maybe less talented and famous, but certainly more sympathetic and without arrogance, clean and nice-sounding voice in particular, by 'catchiness never annoying, telling stories common, easy identification for students and young not at that time.
The first solo single Massimo Altomare and 1977, for CBS, entitled "The River" , back with the song "Lee Gato", however, that individual does not differ music by the duo .
With the advent of the '80s, after twelve years of living in Rome, the duo moved to Florence, and although the singer still in vogue, the 'artistic liaison' pair of worn and split up.

In Florence, in 1982 he founded the GAS (Global Art System), which will produce Litfiba among others, fashion and Aperture.
ironic and light-hearted, influenced by new sounds, Altomare is a Gascon and approach with an air of 'Wave' to a 'classic' Italian of all time, by Emi able to publish the 45 "L 'ivy', a song that Nilla Pizzi and Tonina Torrielli had successfully presented at the Festival of Sanremo in '58, placing in the B side, a delicious Reggae Cha-Cha, entitled "Peppino e Dalida" in which Max finds 'Checks' Loy as co-author.
Altomare will carry out a hilarious video in which jokingly claimed paternity music.
In 'dominant' of Tuscany, Massimo Altomare comes into contact with the 'New Wave' Fiorentina, who started all the rage at that time, known as the bassist Roberto Terzani (Bolognese musician, former and future Windopen Litfiba) and especially Ernesto De Pascale (journalist, radio host, musician, independent producers, working with Radio Three, currently writes for many important Italian and foreign music magazines, award-winning for its artistic merits), 'deus ex machina' of HypnoDance, band active from 1984 to optimize a tasty blend of Blues, Soul, Rock and Wave.
With some excellent pieces (I personally prefer "The picture of health" and "Do not wake me"), not just the hype by the record label, with rare radio broadcasting, it passes unnoticed again.
Massimo Altomare also experienced in the field of 'film' with some soundtracks (the first even in 1977, titled "Do not count on us") and later, in ttratto from Swing and Jazz, has always participated at the 1990 tribute to Fred Hammond, "My dear friend Fred" and "Turn down your radio in 2000, a tribute to the Italian music of the '30s e '40 , anni in cui era severamente proibito l'ascolto del Jazz , dello Swing e di tutto ciò che veniva dall'America .
Nel 2007 , grazie all'ormai consolidata amicizia e sodalizio con il grande Stefano Bollani (vera Eccellenza Italiana in ambito musicale) , It is a reissued masterpiece entitled "The Gnosis of fanfole," published in 1998 by Sonic (only sold a thousand copies, the label is then fouled ...), sung in 'Fanfolese', the idiom pataphysical composed of invented words, meaningless except to those conferred on them by their own sound, created by the 'Poetry Metasemantica' by Fosco Maraini, Dacia Maraini's most famous father, who died in 2004.
The CD is printed and attached to the book of the same name (published by Baldini Castoldi Dalai), an attempt by the two artists to compose songs that recall something that already exists without bordering on plagiarism, where recognizable melodic elements are used differently, thus creating unique sound.
Altomare In 2010, the versatile back on the 'crime scene', released the new "Outing" (Wing / Edel), a beautiful cd that approximates the atmosphere of the duo with Loy, a welcome return.
Artist brilliant and ironic, shrewdly eclectic, Massimo Altomare over the years has wisely put to the test and in continuous discussion, with different musical styles and genres, but that is little mentioned, given the unconventional nature.
'Paladin' abused and forgotten of Italians Artists, lo inserisco a pieni voti e con pieno diritto nelle pagine di questo blog , con l'auspicio che Voi , miei imberbi e canuti Melomani , Audiofili senza timor alcuno , possiate goderne ascoltandolo in questo piacevole e settembrino 'ripping' vinilitico .
