ARS, the PD is ashamed!

Federation of the Left: The arrest of Vitrano, a further blow to the legitimacy of quest'ARS

The arrest of a member of PD Gaspare Vitrano, casts a 'further shadow over the Sicilian regional assembly, which sees an increasing number of its members involved in serious judicial investigations.
The Federation of the Left, long ago, underlined that there is more than the minimum conditions of legality and authority because the legislature of the Sicilian parliament can continue.
The permanence of this political class is likely to result in irreparable damage to Sicily, its institutions, its economic and social life. What is happening in the field of alternative energy, as also seems to confirm this story, is very serious: strategic opportunities are bent at dark interests and the risk of losing crucial times of development is becoming more concrete.
E 'now and then to put an end to this unacceptable situation in the only way possible to return the word to the people, in regional elections.

How To Make Buggy Frames

LE MASQUE - Sonora Alluring

A 'lost reality' from the '80s independent scene.

Excited and inspired by the poetry of Baudelaire, a poem contained in "Les Fleurs du Mal", which they name, and the Post Punk Gothic atmosphere of the early '80s, the young people MASQUE born in Milan in 1979 from an idea by Edgardo Moia Cellerino (guitarist, singer and songwriter) and Tiberius Boncristiano (drums), both founders of the first core training, which has experienced several changes of musicians both incoming and output, as regards the use of bass, keyboards, piano , Saxophone and clarinet. Just
the most fascinating of French poets (at least in the Dark Wave) and the dark throb of sound British Post Punk array, 'combination' rather then in vogue among the younger formations 'independent', determine the imprinting of the group and define fully the poetry in the years to come, with texts and decadent twilight, entrusted to the leader Moia Cellerino, supported by music played brilliantly, and after, perhaps the most successful in their records, they move away from both the Rock is the traditional canons of style 'singer-songwriter', to shape melodies and original arrangements, and almost more intimate 'chamber', the emotional impact. The Pima
incision group Milanese, is self-produced cassette entitled "Trouvailles pour Comediens" in 1983, all six songs sung in English despite the title-speaking, followed by a busy concert and the first record, "The Happy Flock "a beautiful ep of 1984, containing three songs with text always in English, printed by a small label of Savona, the Mask Productions.
In 1986, thanks to the historic India-Label sound recording, released another very nice EP entitled "Talk," which includes three songs and an instrumental album that represents for them the final step to the Italian language.
Prodotto da Angelo Carrara , vengono abandoned altogether 'moaning sound' of Post Punk black for a more mature 'Chanson' just tinged with Wave, so that Le Masque to participate in its sixteenth edition of the 'Premio Tenco', achieving a remarkable success by critics.
In 1991 he published "The Memory of Venus" (Music for Target), their first real longplaying, with some truly remarkable songs ("Makrya", "The Beautiful Summer" and the title track at all) and embark on a strenuous tour concerts in major Italian cities. In 1993
are named in the Italian Encyclopedia of Rock, published by Arcana volume publishing, where it is emphasized the originality of their proposed musical.
In 1995 he published "Le Masque" (No Way Records / Sony Music), where the group tries hard with the 'great leap' and leave the public 'niche' that time he had celebrated.
The album in question is quite controversial, the songs are 'coated' arrangement of perhaps up to date, but sometimes' inappropriate 'to the nature of the songs and lyrics of Cellerino, as always centered on the themes of loneliness,' inadequacy. Eleven tracks of pleasant
Pop, Techno Pop at times, some even almost dall'incipit 'houseggiante', presumably with the 'Proustian' "Marcel" as the forerunner in business, also the cover of "La Banda".
E 'right to recall that In concerts of the period, The Masque detach from the 'mistakes' of the record production, returning to the songs and their true inner nature, by demonstrating to be excellent musicians.
In 1997, the UPR (distributed by Sony Music) published the single "Dandies," including the title track and a cover of "Legend of Christmas" by Fabrizio De Andrè, is the beautiful "All we died with difficulty" of 1968, the second album in the studio of the great Genoese, in turn inspired by "Le Père Noël et la petite fille" by Georges Brassens.
In 1998, The Masque publish "From the Diary of a glass blower" (released on Fire Records and collaboration between the Eibon Amplexus), a beautiful anthology includes material produced from 1994 to 1998, some versions recorded live at the Premio Tenco, and a new "The Long Night of Gianni", dedicated to the late fashion designer Gianni Versace.
In 2003, after several years of silence, thanks to Snowdonia (excellent independent label, in which the team are very good Maisie), Le Masque project returns with the album "The Years of Globiana.
The album maintains strong roots in the Italian songwriters, and stays with the group's last official production Lombardo, excluding the recent reissue 'expanded' output in 2008 ("Interview") and future (with the twelve inches " The Happy Flock "and the first cassette rare '83, assembled insieme) .
Asserendo ciò , mi riferisco soprattutto the public 'indie' back then, which has perhaps never 'forgiven' turning their musical and linguistic (public audiophile forty-years, of which I was / am one, with 'cap in his ear' in some cases, more often when it came to our own artists, to put it as it might just do the wise and great Whittaker "... what if ... 'indie' and sing Italian ... must ... just do the Rap," to figure ...), although these ex-boys have made great songs, while not taking advantage of those economic badget deserved, even if passed to the majors, considered a 'bet' at risk, if not lost.
Now, in my small way, justice is done.
Royal Box in Pinzillacchere Music, which also wants to signify gratitude by an avid viewer and collector of vinyl, with 'affinity' towards them, as evidenced by the tiny picture of my profile.

How Do Bear Traps Work

Placido Rizzotto: struggles for land, against the mafia and the bosses at the club Sunday

March 10 to 63 years ago, in Corleone, the Mafia killed brutally Placido Rizzotto, partisan, leader of the CGIL, engaged in struggles for land and democracy.
With the murder of Placido Rizzotto and dozens of other union leaders and left, with the massacre of Portella della Ginestra, it highlights the role of Mafia in the service of reactionary political and social forces, domestic and international, which is one of the most serious in the history of mortgages and Sicily in the country.
It 's a node, in new forms, will be seeking today.
remember, then, the sacrifice of Placido Rizzotto as a page summary of the history of the movement Sicilian anti-mafia that has combined commitment and mobilization for social rights. This tradition of struggle for us is a valuable point of reference in today's battles against the mafia and its links with the political and economic power, to defend the world of work by old and new injustices.

no to heavy taxes on Sicilian highways

The imposition of heavy taxes for new citizens who are forced, at their own risk and danger, attend the Sicilian highways is a real scandal.
This decision is offensive when you consider the maintenance of those highways, which have long poured in unacceptable conditions and tends to deteriorate, with serious security risks and heavy economic impact.
is to be noted, moreover, how this decision will be another blow to the weaker sections and for commuters (also considered that some highway sections are crucial segments of the roads in large metropolitan areas). Finally, the consequences will be severe on the general road safety and the environment with the further clogging of some roads, especially during the summer.
Refoundation Communist start immediately a mobilization campaign in Sicily for the withdrawal of the measures that have established this absurd taxes.

investigation on the precariousness of women's work in Catania

The circle city of the future re-establishment of the Communist Party - Federation of the left symbolically chose the date of 8 March to launch the second part of the investigation on the precariousness of women in Catania, a campaign that aims to analyze the territory, the shapes of the growing insecurity and subordination of women in the workplace.

What we are now being proposed as the economic crisis is a real crisis of civilization, from which it is necessary to bring out the many contradictions and subjectivity of the different conflict .
Some years ago, starting from their own experiences and stories of ordinary precariousness "shared by many other women, companions of the club have made a future city videoinchiesta the precariousness of women in Catania, from pubs to call centers, to school and Ateneo Catania: precarious subjectivity that, through the instrument of investigation and dell'autonarrazione, from their lives forever crushed in a breath and present, between needs and wants, try unifying experience of struggle, by focusing on the wishes and demands concerning the life.
In a society of capitalist globalization, which devotes more time obsession of a greedy and compulsive consumption, retail chains and multinational companies and franchises are, especially in a world marked by unemployment dramatically as that of Catania, one of the areas which workers flock to the most eagerly awaited, especially women. In a constant state of uncertainty, is interwoven figure "traditional" job so dear to the patriarchy and the new forms of global insecurity.
In the face of further insecurity of lives, it becomes increasingly necessary to try to understand the changes in the subordination of women in the world work and to meet the many in / subordination that often remain isolated, with these objectives, the future city circle starts the second part of the survey on insecurity in the area of trade, structured experience through self-narration, questionnaires and informal meetings.

goodbye Alberto Granado, Che Guevara's companion

The 'Che' was not the 'Che', when, with Alberto Granado are running around South America aboard the 'Powerful', the motorcycle on which in 1952 the two friends, both college students, found utopia. Jovial, funny, irreverent alter ego of Che, of Granada remains formidable portrait drawn in 'Motorcycle Diaries'. Granado was to record the details in the diaries of an extraordinary adventure that allowed the two friends to discover, also, an inner continent, marked by a deep and durable friendship

by italiacuba.it
an interview with Alberto Granado
D- reading the diary of your journey with Che is clear that this experience has been instrumental in the formation of your conscience on several occasions in fact next to your cultural interest for the pre-Columbian civilization, it is clear commitment to make so that the living conditions of local populations mutassero. That Guevara then made a radical decision to fight, but you have broken the trip to stay in the leper colony of Venezuela. What prompted you to go to Cuba and then as you develop your experience in all these years?
R- After fifty years since that trip, I can not help but say that my life has revolved around the figure of Ernesto Che Guevara and the Cuban revolution.
One of the responsibilities that we have we have known men like Che and Fidel is to understand how to be men of flesh and blood, and not myths over reality . Too often in good faith, friends and enemies tend to raise interest for the figure of Che Guevara beyond human limits, so that does not seem possible to follow his example. I want to tell a story that I consider typical: when I went to see that in Cuba the first time, was president of the National Bank. I asked the secretary to announce and he replies that the commander Guevara could not be bothered because he was studying financial mathematics .
D- Having a partner who has experienced first hand the reality of Cuba's immediately after the revolution to this day makes me wonder how this situation developed and what do you think the problems that this reality is now to face.
R- When I decided to live in Cuba, the revolution had already taken a social connotation and realized that my dream has always cultivated. But was the speech that Fidel Castro was held that year in the Serra teacher to track the goals of the Cuban revolution, which finally led me to remain in Cuba to make my contribution .
Immediately after the revolution, the U.S., in fact, had convinced many doctors to leave the island, so it seemed important to help form a group of scientists in the medical, chemical and biochemical . Luckily I can say that from a medical school that existed in '60, we are now in 18 schools. From a 0% of research institutions, today Cuba has an international reputation in genetic engineering and molecular genetics.
D- your words lead me to ask you another question that follows from this discussion: the international prestige of Cuba in the field of medicine, is universally acknowledged (by all the countries of Latin America who can go to Cuba to seek treatment), nevertheless the consequences of the embargo have been very serious in this area. For this I ask: what are the health issues currently in Cuba, and what should be the priority of the movement of solidarity?
R- Indeed the end of relations with the Soviet Union has caused serious problems Cuban economy and thus also to medicine , but fortunately there is a clear health policy in Cuba, no clinic was closed, and indeed in some regions has further lowered the rate of infant mortality. Not having a large availability of antibiotics, for example, has developed a policy to prevent a lot taking care of hygiene.
It 'clear that As the economic blockade by the United States is strengthening wanted (everyone knows the Torricelli Act) any act of solidarity becomes very important. What is vital for us not only that we send aid, but we are allowed to buy what the country needs . The solidarity movement must therefore be push because the block is removed. Of course I will not say that it is not welcome any financial help, especially for children and schools. For example we are now paperless, we need a lot of paper.
The Cuban people are still growing despite the difficulties and it's a people worthy of being helped . It 'clear that after thirty years we must revise some points on the development, we must think that we started with a literate country and have developed great strides both in the economic and scientific, having been forced to stop abruptly this course creates a certain disillusionment. Some do not know how to react and go, but it is still a very small percentage. The majority of youth and the Cuban people believe in revolution and argues .
D- There is a generational problem in Cuba? Young people are the ones that feel most uneasy about the economic crisis?
R- It could certainly not be there in Cuba as in all countries a similar problem, but the difficulties young people are also able to grow. I'll tell you an anecdote. This year, the zone of Guantanamo, generally little rainfall, has suffered numerous floods, and then there was the need to collect sugar cane before it was lost. The Communist Youth was taken charge of the problem and asked three hundred volunteers.
He presented five hundred, but when you leave we realized that there were only two hundred pairs of boots. He held the team and decided that nobody would leave until they had found all the boots needed. prevailed in the end the opinion of some barefooted as did those who had fought against the Spaniards in the last century or fellow Fidel in '59. But there's more: the teachers gave up their shoes at Guantanamo because they were less necessary to go to teach rather than to go to cut cane.
D- There are still some questions you would like to address. The first regards the situation of Latin America in that famous journey you and what have clearly become aware of the realities of individual countries. What has changed now?
R- When we started we wanted to know Latin America, did not think that in those countries lived social and political problems as severe. Same Argentina only knew the reality of the city and the middle class. On our way we run the exploitation of not only men but also the environment. If we compare the reality with that of today, we see that the difference is that today we are richer but the poor are still poor: For example, Argentina that in the fifties had a scientific level comparable to that of Europe and a well-structured school, now delegated to a private school education of the rich, while the public schools is increasingly left to itself with non-existent facilities and poorly paid teachers.
My assessment is that Latin America is worse now than when we visited, we have confidence in the people and therefore we are confident that they will fight because the situation changes .
D- What are Cuba's relations with other countries in Latin America?
R- The relationship with the people, and I stress the people, Latin Americans are also very narrow because only the fact that Cuba has resisted U.S. aggression thirty-five years, is an example to look to the exploited of all countries.
D- The uprising in Chiapas in Mexico has dramatically revived the problem of marginalized indigenous minorities. As has been experienced in Cuba, so close to Mexico, this reality?
R- First of all, the Zapatista uprising was a clear refutation to those who believed that liberalism would have done away with the popular uprisings.
D- final question to be answered to a question that my generation will pose for thirty years and which only a friend who can answer. On why He has left Cuba and its place in the revolutionary government, to die in Bolivia, rivers of words have been written. You who have lived with him those last days in Cuba, what do you think of that choice?
R- Che had always expressed the belief that the revolution could triumph only when all the countries of Latin America were freed U.S. imperialism. No one would have wished that he would leave but those who knew him knew that the party to support the revolution of other people, fell into his vision of life. It 's totally false that there were differences with Castro .
The last time we met, sitting at a table, he announced that he would leave for the United States and I told him: "You know Pelao that there are two things that I can not give up: the rum and travel"
And he said: "You know I've never been drinking involved, and even the travel if I can not bring back my machine gun ". In this way I had communicated its intentions. Actually he did not do that follow the path he had mapped out: he did not believe in a form of seizure of power other than the armed , in which we did not agree, since the days of our trip.

IRENE FARGO - Words Nude

One of the most beautiful and interesting female vocals of the '90s.

comes from the province of Brescia, Flavia Pozzaglio aka IRENE FARGO.

Since a very young with a passion for music and a strong voice, he began his experience in the choir 'City of Chiari', often holding the role of lead singer, in which Pergolesi, Mozart, Schubert , Vivaldi are just some of the composers to which it gives voice, sensitivity, warmth and precision.
After this 'sectarian', which shows a strong and flexible voice, has a chance to become one of the new voices of Italian pop.

In 1988 the first important stage of his career was participating in the 'Festival of Castrocaro', this time Irene has the song "The women of the real soldiers, winning the final.
is discovered by a recording of Carousel, Enzo Miceli, who immediately puts it under contract.
thus affecting her first album debut self-titled "Irene Fargo," a little pop record business after all, but a strong emotional impact.
With a look 'from library', in 1990 the Fargo faces in the world of pop country, with the songs of this album written by the same Miceli, in collaboration with Gaetano Lorefice, while the musicians are Lucius 'Violin' Fabbri, Paolo Costa, Vittorio Cosma.
Among the songs more 'unable to find this album over the song presented in Castrocaro, "Nannarella", inspired by the actress Anna Magnani, and "dialogue" that will be' the first single recorded with the Carousel (1989) and the unconventional Summer and "Girls by the sea."
In this work we also find two beautiful interpretations of two of the evergreen French Chanson, "Mon homme" and "Milord", taken from the repertoire of Edith Piaf. In 1991 Irene
participate in the Festival of Sanremo with the song "Woman in Ibsen's", a play inspired by the Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen titled A Doll's House.
The piece allows the singer to demonstrate his great vocal range and his clear diction and perfect. At Irene
Festival is a close second in the category 'youth'. The success and
'that causes the carousel to republish previously poorly promoted debut album, with the addition of two new songs: the San Remo and "I'll give' a song", engraved with Grazia Di Michele.
the autumn of the same year brought a new single (also released even a twelve-inch mix), "John", a song ironic funkeggiante, which shows the other side of Art Irene Fargo.
In 1992 the artist and Lombard 'back in the race at the' Festival San Remo 'with the song "Like a Turandot", a song inspired by the famous opera by Puccini, confirming his ability and his vocal range.
The event again is ranked second in the category 'young' and after participating in San Remo released his new album, called "The magical voice of the moon."
Among the main pieces of this work are "Sabbia d'Africa", "I separated," written by Vincenzo Spampinato, 'Mimi', "" Walking "and" The Professor "written for her by Grazia Di Michele. The

Innamoratasi della Canzone Napoletana , sempre nel '95 la Fargo partecipa a 'C'era una volta il Festival di Napoli' , trasmesso TMC by then, where it proposes "Melancholy Autumn" and the television show 'before and after Naples', broadcast by Rai.

In 1996 he recorded two songs with the Little Rainbow Choir, for children, entitled "Ghiri" and "But it's Christmas," songs that are put on the CD "Ghiri dormice, whose proceeds will 'go to charity for some institutions welfare of children.
That same year he won first prize at the Air 'But love you', aired on networks Mediaset, which reinterprets the famous "I can not live" by the great Pino Donaggio. The following year
public always Carousel, a new record called "Fargo." The album contains five songs among them "You my self," the Neapolitan "It tuorne nun" and "Oh Love" written for her by Daniel Fossati, while the second part of this work 'consists of some songs from his repertoire, taken from a live.
In 1999 he recorded a new job, "Travel Notes", a remake of some hit songs from his repertoire with a new arrangement more 'three unpublished, "You", a traditional Portuguese music with words in our language adapted by Irene same, the classic internazionale "Ebb tide" (già cantato da Sinatra e dai Righteous Brothers) ed un brano della Piaf , particolarmente cara alla Fargo , l'emozionante "Je ne regrette rien" .

L'anno successivo Irene torna a teatro con la Fondazione Teatro di Napoli , nel famoso musical "I promessi sposi" tratto from the famous novel, which has two roles, wearing the clothes of the famous nun of Monza and also the mother of Cecilia.
Towards the end of 2003, Irene met Francesco Palmieri, a young author who writes for her a new song called "Trap", published in a new CD single.
In 2005, Brescia singer returns with a new album entitled "Together", as some new and reinterpretations of classic Neapolitan song (like "Palummella 'and' E 'Spingola Franges") of the Song (the inevitable "Vie en Rose", "Le Feuilles Mortes" and "Hymne a l'amour") and the Portuguese Fado ("tracks" Fado Português "and" Ferreiro ").
After another equity theater as an actress / singer, including a musical dedicated to Gershwin and Glenn Miller, a new solo album, under the artistic direction of Rosario Di Bella, at least it seems from your website, ready to be published on the occasion also output publishing of a book, in which the artist recounts anecdotes of his life.
Even today, in my humble opinion, IRENE FARGO and 'certainly one of the most talented female performers vocally in the Italian music scene, an artist at 480 degrees, which is always called into play by addressing different stages in his musical career, I consider so its presence in this blog a duty and a just recognition of merit.
